Sunshroud Cave is a level 48 settlement in Ember Strands occupied by the Vultures (The Way of Winter)
Objectives:
- Look for mystical crate x1
- Defeat normal enemies x12
- Find weapon and armor crates x2
Rewards:
- Fiber
- Random Scrap
- Platinum Crystal

I would highly suggest you watch the video for this one as the indicators on the map shown above might not be accurate considering this settlement is inside a cave. There are a lot more weapon and gear crates in the cave than what’s shown on the map.
For this guide, I’m going to list the crates obtained based on the location from the South entrance to the cave.
Cave’s South Entrance
Gear Crate 1 (On top of crates)
When you enter the area with Igna’s Messenger, you’ll spot this crate next to the water storage.
Gear Crate 2 (By the stairs)
This gear crate is on top of some crates by the stairs.
Weapon Crate 1 and 2
In the same room with Igna’s Messenger, you’ll spot two weapon crates stacked up along with other crates here.
Weapon Crate 3 (In the Shipping Container)
After taking the two weapon crates above, you’ll notice a door opening into a shipping container nearby. This crate is inside.
Rift Anchor Area
Gear Crate 3 (Catwalk Near Rift Anchor)
When you enter the area where the rift anchor is, you’ll spot the gear crate on the catwalk.
Mystical Crate (Near Rift Anchor)
The Mystical Crate is near the Rift Anchor. You’ll spot it on one of the rock platforms surrounded by lava in the middle of the settlement.
Weapon Crate 4 (Near Rift Anchor)
After getting the Mystical Crate, use the zipline to go up, climb up the stairs and head deeper into the cave on your right. There’s another zipline up ahead. Use that to reach the area with a campfire and you’ll find the weapon crate there.
Deeper Cave Area
Weapon Crate 5 (Guarded Area of Chaosium Production)
After taking the weapon crate above, head forward and you’ll come across a path leading to another open area. You’ll spot fire ores along this path. In the next area, you’ll spot another weapon crate in a heavily guarded area.
Weapon Crate 6 (Most Overlooked Weapon Crate)
I think most people missed this crate because it’s at the other end of the cave as you enter. See the mini-map below for the exact location. I only gotten this one time as it’s too out of the way.
Gear Crate 4 (Towards the North Cave Entrance)
This crate is found near the campfire in a caged area guarded by the Vulture Conqueror. It’s near the North entrance which I typically use it as my exit.
The settlements in The Way of Winter scenario are larger and there are more things to explore. In case I do overlook anything, please let me know in the comment section below.
