Moose City is a settlement located in the Onyx Tundra region on the east of Moose City Food Factory. Recommended level to explore this settlement is level 6. The items you can loot here include random scraps, fiber and cheese.
Your exploration objectives are:
- Defeat normal enemies x 12
- Look for Mystical Crate x 1
- Find Weapon and Armor Crates x 2
- Activate Rift Anchor x 1
For weapon and gear crates, some of its contents may be different for each player so I’m just stating the drops that I’ve gotten.
Weapon Crates
Weapon Crate 1 (Inside a cafe)
The first weapon crate is located inside this cafe. This is also the same cafe where Northern Lifeline quest occurs in which you help Hot Dog fights the Vultures.
Weapon Crate 2 (On an abandoned bus)
This one can be spotted above the abandoned bus outside in front of the cafe’s entrance and near the tents. Jump on top of the bus to open the crate.
Weapon Crate 3 (In another cafe with 3 cupcakes on its entrance)
Enter this building with three giant cupcakes on it. Inside you’ll find the weapon crate on your right.
Weapon Crate 4 (Inside Ice Block)
On the southeast of the settlement below the round platform, glide down and you’ll notice a bunch of ice blocks. Press Q to activate spacetime so you’ll identify which ice block contain the crate. You’ll need to use torch or molotov to melt the ice block.
Gear Crates
Gear Crate 1 (Inside cafe with 3 giant cupcakes on its entrance)
Once you’ve opened the weapon crate, proceed to the other side of this same building. You’ll see a bunch of cooking stations in what seems like a cooking class setup. You’ll spot the gear crate behind the racks.
Gear Crate 2 (Building near Lake’s Shoreline)
The 2nd gear crate is located at the building near the lake’s shoreline on the east of the Rift Anchor. When you enter the building, look for an open hole on the ground. Climb down using the ladder.
Mystical Crate
The Mystical Crate is located on top of a giant pink cake. The reward you obtain from this is a Blueprint Fragment of Snow Panther Set x 45. There’ll be a Glutton spawn near it but it didn’t attack me as long as I leave it alone.
Previously, it was almost impossible to get to the crate unless you have double jump ability or stardust energy drinks. In 2nd season of The Way of Winter, they have added a candle stick leading up to the mystical crate to make it easier.
Rift Anchor
The rift anchor icon is shown in your map so it’s easy to spot. Be careful of the roaming Arbiter and Gas Bags that’ll explode at you in the area.
Other Points of Interests
Hidden Mystical Crate: Next to a giant pink cake where the Mystical Crate Loot is, you’ll spot a purple shiny bubble. Go near it and follow where it appears next to get a mystical crate.
Scenic Viewpoint: After obtaining the Mystical Crate, jump up to the pillar to complete the Scenic Viewpoint.
Food Recipe Mixed Fruit Pie: In the same building where Gear Crate 1 was, you’ll also find the recipe at the cooking station.
