Ravenous Hunter (Level 10)

The Ravenous Hunter is bio-mechanical deviant with its humanoid host trapped inside a yellow sac on its ‘head’.

  • Location: Monolith of Greed, Dayton Wetlands
  • Weakspot: Slime Head (Yellow)
  • Boss Attacks: Gatling gun, rocket launcher, acid spit
  • Rewards: Melee Amplifier, Munitions Amplifier, Weapon Mod Parts, Stardust Source, Electronic Part.

The Gatling Gun Attack

Destroy the gatling gun on its right arm to destroy its shield. Keep your distance and stay behind the structures in case it starts shooting at you. Once its gatling gun comes off from its arm, aim at its weakspot (the yellow head.) You can also use the dropped gatling gun to shoot it.

The Rocket Attack

The Ravenous Hunter will regenerate its right arm in the form of a rocket launcher which it will launch rockets on you. In Hard or Pro mode, the rockets will be launched upward in an open area which is hard to avoid.

Observe the red circles on the ground and do your best to jump off or roll out of it. Other than that, this projectile attacks will be coming from the centre when he’s in immune mode. You’ll see a red laser sight and you just need to hide behind any structures to block the attacks.

The Acid Attack

The Ravenous Hunter also spits out acid in various directions. This occurs when you see it bites its left arm. Dodge the acids and stay away from the area where the acids are dropped.

Eliminate the Spawners

When the Ravenous Hunter’s health is depleted on the fourth and second bar, it teleports away from the open area and becomes immune. On each side of the dungeon, Spawners will appear which will create Gnawers to attack you. Destroy both Spawners as quickly as you can.

Once you do that, the Ravenouns Hunter will teleport back into the open battlefield and you can begin shooting it. In Hard and Pro mode, you’ll be dealing with stronger enemies apart from Gnawers when the Ravenous Hunter is immune to your attack.

Treant in Gaia Cliff Monolith (Level 20)

Treant in Avalance Monolith (Level 25)

The Treant is a deviant boss with complex tangle of branches and vines.

  • Location: Gaia Cliff Monolith, Broken Delta (Manibus scenario), Avalanche Monolith (Way of Winter scenario)
  • Weakspot: The woman’s body located near its head
  • Boss Attacks: Laser, Orb and Pounds
  • Rewards: Melee Amplifier, Munitions Amplifier, Weapon Mod Parts, Stardust Source, Electronic Part

Destroy the Vines

When you come to face the Treant, you’ll notice that it’s immune to your attack. Don’t bother shooting it first so you won’t trigger it to attack you. Instead, I recommended using the updraft at the bottom and head towards the Vine on the right first.

If you have Improved Molotov, you can use it on the Vine if you haven’t complete your Season Goal to defeat a Vine with Molotov.

Vantage Point

You don’t need to go near the other two Vines. Just aim at its weakspots that’s glowing in red and shoot from where you are. This way, after destroying all three vines, you can maintain where you are as it’s a vantage point to defeat the Treant.

Defeating the Treant

Continue to shoot the Treant at its weakspot which is the woman’s body on its top front while preventing its attacks. There are 3 types of attacks the Treant will throw at you:

  1. Orb Attack: These white orbs will travel towards you and burst which cause damage to you. It travels quite slowly so you can shoot it as it’s heading your way.
  2. Laser Attack: The Treant will shoot laser beam at you from time to time so be sure to hide behind any structures to avoid it.
  3. Pound Attack: If you’re close to the Treant, it will pound the ground to attack. The force will spread in circle and you can dodge it by jumping but it will still cause damage to you. To fully prevent this, you need to destroy any Cyst Seeds and stay inside the area to get shielded. Of course, if you’re on a higher ground, you don’t need to worry about the pound attack.

Arachsiam (Level 30)

Arachsiam is a deviant transformed from a human host into a long-haired skeletal gigantic spider.

  • Location: Mirage Monolith, Iron River
  • Weakspot: Head and abdomen
  • Boss Attacks: Web projectiles, spider eggs, mist, jump and rush attack
  • Rewards: Energy Link, Gear Mod x2, Weapon Mod Parts, Stardust Source, Electronic Part

Preparation and Supplies

Bring sufficient activators, adrenaline shots and ammo if you’re going on Hard or Pro mode and especially if you’re going solo on this one. The mist from Arachsiam will affect your visibility and you’ll have a hard time seeing where the attacks come from.

Apart from that, when it has immunity on where you need to shoot the eggs from a distance, poison mist will be released where your character will take massive drain in HP even without being hit.

Keep Your Distance

Arachsiam comes with a few attacks that can do massive damage to your HP, so it’s best to keep your distance to allow yourself some room to dodge certain attacks.

  • Web Pull: It will shoot a web towards you in order to pull you close. While you’re trapped, you cannot move or use any attacks. It’s very unlikely you’ll be able to dodge this attack.
  • Web Projectiles: Similar to web pull, once trapped, you won’t be able to move or attack. Try to dodge them as the web land and avoid stepping on them.
  • Spider Eggs: Arachsiam may lay eggs during the fight. The eggs will spawn spiders when you get close to it. You can shoot the eggs to destroy it.
  • Mist: This doesn’t hurt you but it reduce your visibility and leaving you vulnerable to unseen attacks coming your way. Keep shooting the Arachsiam whenever you can to prevent it from using mist.
  • Jump and Rush Attacks: Arachsiam will jump in the air and land on a targeted area to deal damage to anything underneath it. It will also rush towards you and hit you. Do your best to dodge it by rolling away from it.

Shoot the Distanced Spider Eggs When Arachsiam is Immune

When Arachsiam climbs on top of the pillar, it can become immune to damage. To remove its immunity, you will need to shoot the spider eggs at the end of the web bridges. While the Arachsiam is immune, it can still attack you so watch your back.

Rabizex aka Shadow Hound (Level 40)

The Shadow Hound is a gigantic dog-like beast with sharp fangs and sharp claws to attack.

  • Location: Monolith of Thirst, Chalk Peak
  • Weakspots: Head, Shoulders
  • Boss Attacks: Projectile Attacks, Double Swipe, Laser Attack, Underground Attack, Duskorbs, AOE Attack
  • Rewards: Energy Link, Gear Mod x2, Weapon Mod Parts, Stardust Source, Electronic Part

Fight From a Distance

It’s extremely important for you to fight the Shadow Hound from a distance due to its many attacks. Distance gives you more time to react and you can observe its attack patterns more easily. Apart from dodging its attacks, you can also use the portals in the battlefield to teleport you across the area.

Observe and Counter Its Attacks

The Shadow Hound is definitely a more difficult boss compared to the former ones. It has various of attacks it can launch at you. Understand its attack patterns and be prepared for it.

  1. 2 Projective Attacks: Simply avoid it by running to the side.
  2. 3 Projectile Attacks: The hound will jumps in the air and shoot 3 projectile attacks at you. When it jumps, be ready to dodge.
  3. Double Swipe: This happens when you’re close to the hound. When it swipes, dodge to the side instead of to the back as you’ll get hit by the second swipe.
  4. Underground Attack: The hound will burrows underground and makes its way towards you. It will jump out of the ground from where you’re standing to deal damage. When you see it heading towards you, roll forward to avoid the attack.
  5. Laser Attack: The Shadow Hound will shoot a laser attack in front of it. You can avoid this with a well-timed jump but if you’re fighting from a distance, you shouldn’t get hit by it.
  6. Spawn Spikes: The Shadow Hound’s projectiles will leave spikes that will slow you down when you’re near it. Be sure to avoid coming into contact with the spikes.
  7. AOE Attack: The Shadow Hound will also pull you towards it then unleashing an AOE attack. It will knock you down instantly if you don’t have sufficient HP or strong armor. Do your best to run or roll away when it begins pulling you towards him.
  8. Duskorbs: Once you’ve depleted two HP bars of the Shadow Hound, it will summon Duskorbs that will attack you with projectiles. At this point, he will become immune to damage but he could still attack you. Shoot the Duskorbs as quickly as you can.

IMPORTANT! Shoot Shadow Hound When It Becomes An Orb

When Shadow Hound jumps into the air and becomes an orb, focus all your firepower on the orb. If you fail to fully deplete the white bar underneath it’s HP bar, it will launch an AOE attack which will kill you and your teammates in one shot. If you’re successful in depleting the white bar, the hound will fall to the ground and will be incapacitated for a moment.

Focus on its Weakspots

While you’re dodging its attacks, be sure to focus on its weakspots. When the battle starts, the Shadow Hound will have no weakspots so keep shooting until you deplete two health bars.

  1. The Head:Focus all your attacks on the head once the inner head is exposed.
  2. The Shoulders: You’ll need to shoot the two red spots on its shoulder to remove its immunity.

Mensdevoran aka The Forsaken Giant (Lvl 60)

The Forsaken Giant is a high level rift entity and the toughest boss so far in Once Human. Its body looks like enormous tree trunks and branches intertwined together.

  • Location: Forsaken Monolith, Red Sands
  • Weakspots: Head where the red glow is and on its palms when it’s glowing red.
  • Boss Attacks: Slam attacks, Sweep attacks, Mobs Summoning, Laser Beams
  • Rewards: Energy Links, Tier V Weapon, Tier V Weapon Mods, Stardust Source , Electronic Parts, Eclipse Cortex Lv.3 and Nutcracker (potential drop)

When dealing with the Great Ones in Once Human, it’s always good to understand how it attacks and what to do apart from just inflicting damage on its weakspots. There are 3 stages of attacks for The Forsaken Giant. Anticipating and planning for it will increase your chance of success.

Stage 1 Attacks

The first phase of The Forsaken Giant boss fight will have players facing off against the ginormous boss, targeting specific areas that glow red during its movements and attacks, all while avoiding some pretty heavy-hitting blows dealt by the boss.

While you can deal damage by shooting any area of the boss’s body, any potential damage will be significantly reduced, meaning that players should just focus fire on the glowing points when exposed.

  1. Slam Attack: The Forsaken Giant will raise his right or left arm and slam his fist towards you, triggering a shockwave to spread across the battlefield. You can anticipante this when his right or left shoulder glows in red, signalling the direction of the slam. You can prevent it by moving the opposite direction and jump to avoid the resulting shockwave. The double jump ability will come in handy here.
  2. Sweep Attack: Another attack you can anticipate when its right or left palm glows in red is the sweep attack. You would want to run towards the opposite side to prevent it. The best indication is the patch of flowers near the edge of the platform. Stand there to avoid the sweep and focus firepower on the palm that’s glowing in red to inflict damage.
  3. The Forsaken Giant’s Tears: When the Giant begins to cry, target its head which glows in red for critical damage. At this time, the tears that spewed out will also spawn Gnawers and Giant Flower Buds. If the Giant’s hands covering its face makes it hard for you to target its weakspot, you can utilize the Giant Flower Buds by throwing it at him.
  4. The Forsaken Giant’s Vomit: The Giant will begin to vomit projectiles which will spawn Gnawers and Giant Flower Buds, much like the Tears. The weakspot will be on its stomach but he’ll shield it with his arms so it’s a little difficult to target it. Again, you can utilize the Giant Flower Buds by throwing it at him.
  5. More Mobs Summoning: Once The Forsaken Giant’s HP drops by a third, he will summon Arbiters, Gnawers, and several Starspawns. The number of mods depend very much on the number of players. If you’re playing solo, the mobs are lesser compared to a full team in which you’re most likely dealing with more than one Arbiter. At this point, utilizing Lonewolf’s Whisper to keep the mobs occupied will be extremely useful.
  6. Important! Slamming the Platform: When the Giant’s HP drops, he will teleport away from the battlefield to initiate a massive slam to destroy the platform. You will see yourself or one of your teammate start glowing in red. Wherever the person in red glow stands will be the spot where the Giant will slam. The strategy here is to stand on a different platform so the Giant will slam once on each side, spreading out the damage and preserving the total collapse of the platform. The Giant will slam three times so be sure to stand on a different platform each time.

Stage 2 Attacks

The Giant will continue to carry out the same attacks in Stage 1 with the following attacks added to the mix:

  1. Range Attack: Be prepared when you see the weakspot on the Giant’s chest begins glowing in red. A series of homing projectiles will be coming towards you from left and right. Move in circular pattern to prevent yourself from getting hit.
  2. Important! Second Attempt to Slam and Destroy The Battlefield: Similar to the previous strategy, be sure to spread out the damage of the platforms by luring it to slam each platform once. If he hits the platform twice here, it will collapse and you’ll fall along with it if you’re on the platform.

Stage 3 Attacks

On this final stage, most of the attacks from previous stages will be carried over with added attacks. Well, that’s what we can expect from the toughest boss right?

  1. AoE Laser Beam Attacks: This attack is precisely why you need all the platforms to survive the slam so you have more space to run around. The Giant’s head will glow in red and multiple laser beams will begin shooting to and fro the area. Avoid the laser beam and focus firepower on the Giant’s head.
  2. The Forsaken Giant’s Grab: During this attack, you’ll see the Giant looms over the platform as if looking for someone to grab. Run towards him and stand at the edge to avoid him grabbing you.

So that’s basically the quick guide of all 3 stages of attacks you’ll be experiencing with the Forsaken Giants. All the best!
