Whipped Body Butter Recipe

After trying many cream and lotion bought from the pharmacy to ease my eczema symptoms with no help, I stumbled upon homemade body butter from a vendor selling at a community bazaar. It was amazing and it helped me with my dry skins. Then, when I begin my Zero Waste journey, I came across a YouTube video of Lauren Singer showing us how to make whipped body butter. So, I started making my own since then. The recipe is really simple. You don’t need to be spending money on commercial creams and lotions that contains chemical and fragrances that are not good for your skins.

Instructions

Step 1: Combine all the ingredients in a double boiler or a glass bowl except essential oils.

Step 2: Using medium heat, keep stirring the ingredients until all are melted.

Step 3: Let it cool a little bit before moving it to the fridge for an hour or so. You’ll know it’s ready when it’s slightly harden but still soft and spongy.

Step 4: Take it out from the fridge. Using a hand mixer, begin whipping it for about a minute.

Step 5: Add the essential oils of your choice and continue to whip it until it becomes white and fluffy.

Step 6: Store the whipped body butter in glass jar or metal container. If the temperature of your home is warmish, the body butter may soften and be slightly oilier. It’s best if you keep it in the fridge to prevent it from becoming rancid and mouldy.
